The alloy has a balanced nickel base with 26–30% molybdenum as the key element, giving it strong corrosion resistance. It avoids grain boundary carbide formation in welds allowing safe use in the as-welded state. With a tensile strength of 760 MPa, yield strength of 350 MPa, and elongation of 40%, these bars show high durability and toughness. Hastelloy B2 Bars are available under ASTM B335 / ASME SB335 specifications. They come in round, square, hex, and rectangular forms with sizes ranging from 6 mm to 120 mm and lengths up to 3000 mm. The alloy has excellent resistance to hydrochloric acid at all concentrations and temperatures, as well as protection against pitting and stress corrosion cracking. These properties make it reliable for critical chemical operations where strength and corrosion resistance are vital.

Hastelloy B2 round bars are used in industries like petrochemical, chemical processing, and fabrication. They are important in the production of acetic acid, herbicides, insecticides, ethylene glycol, and ethyl benzene.
