AWS Class E2594-16 coated electrodes are super duplex stainless steel welding rods, made to join alloys that are alike or comparable. These electrodes have remarkable corrosion resistance with high strength. They have a chemistry that balances the ferrite and austenite phases with 25% chromium, 9.5% nickel, 3.8% molybdenum, and controlled nitrogen. Our electrodes come in standard sizes from 2.0 mm to 5.0 mm. They have the same properties as alloys such as 2507, Zeron 100 and ASTM A890 cast grades. To achieve the right ferrite-austenite ratio they are over-alloyed with 2–3% nickel. The recommended welding heat input ranges between 1 and 2 kJ/in. These electrodes provide excellent tensile and yield strength while resisting stress corrosion cracking and pitting. These coated electrodes are a reliable option for important structures because of their stability in challenging conditions.
AWS Class E2594-16 electrodes are found in pressure vessels, pumps, and valves where durability and resistance to corrosion are important and also used to weld duplex steels like Zeron 100 and 2507. To achieve dependable performance the manufacturing process is executed with precision. The process starts with wire drawing which shapes stainless steel wire to precise dimensions. The next step is flux preparation which uses carefully mixed powders to provide slag control and arc stability. The prepared flux is compacted for uniform application during slug formation. To ensure consistent burn-off and protection during welding, the coating is then evenly applied around the wire. To ensure that the electrodes fulfill the strength and corrosion resistance requirements for use in demanding environments every step is meticulously monitored.
