Monel flanges are strong and long-lasting fittings made from a nickel-copper alloy that work well under the most challenging circumstances. With an average chemical composition of roughly 63% nickel, 28–34% copper, 2.5% iron and up to 2% manganese, the alloy has exceptional resistance to alkalis, acids, and seawater. Tensile strength of 550 MPa, yield strength of 240 MPa and elongation of 30% are among its mechanical characteristics. From cryogenic levels to 1000°F (538°C), these characteristics ensure a long service life, good ductility and high impact resistance over a broad temperature range. Monel flanges are produced to ASTM B564 / ASME SB564 standards, available in sizes from ½ inch to 48 inches. They feature high resistance to seawater and chemical attack, as well as strong protection against pitting and crevice corrosion. Good weldability and malleability make them easy to fabricate into complex systems. Their toughness at low temperatures and durability in high-pressure environments reduce maintenance and replacement costs, making them highly cost-effective in the long run.
