HASTELLOY® C-2000 Coated Electrodes
Welding electrodes composed of the nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy with a special copper addition are known as Hastelloy® C-2000 Coated Electrodes. These electrodes are supplied by Metracore Alloys which is reputable for its reliable quality and ability to function in demanding applications. It is designed for Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) of the same alloy and deliver excellent resistance in both oxidizing and reducing conditions. These electrodes handle sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, and chemical streams with ferric or cupric ions. With a tensile strength of 100,000 psi and 25% elongation it combines strength with flexibility.

Key features make AWS A 5.11 ENiCrMo-17 coated electrodes stand out. It resist pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking, even in chloride-heavy environments. The alloy’s high chromium content improves resistance to oxidizing media. Molybdenum and tungsten strengthen performance in reducing environments. The addition of copper increases sulphuric acid resistance. These electrodes are very versatile because they can be used in their as-welded state without any post-weld heat treatment.
Hastelloy® C-2000 Welding Electrodes are used widely in chemical processing plants for pumps, reactors, and heat exchangers. Additionally, our electrodes are used in offshore rigs, marine equipment, and oil and gas facilities where resistance to saltwater and acids is important. It is used as part of waste incineration systems, gas turbines and flue gas desulfurization in environmental engineering and power generation projects. In order to increase corrosion resistance, our electrodes are also applied to steel for cladding and overlay. High-purity core wire must be prepared, a precise flux coating must be applied, and performance must be ensured by quality checks prior to packaging.
