Grade 2 titanium sits at 99%+ purity, and that purity is what drives its performance in piping systems that carbon steel and stainless grades cannot survive. It weighs roughly 45% less than carbon steel while holding its mechanical strength across a broad temperature range. Chlorides, oxidizing acids, and seawater cause no surface breakdown. Metracore Alloys manufactures Titanium GR.2 Flanges to ASTM B381 / ASME SB381 at our Mumbai facility, with each piece cleared for dimensional, mechanical, and chemical conformance before it leaves the shop floor.
Quality Testing & Inspection
Metracore puts every batch of Titanium GR.2 Flanges through a fixed inspection sequence. Documentation for each test travels with the order, giving buyers a complete traceability record from mill heat to dispatch.
- Hydro Testing: Each flange gets pressurized to 1.5x its rated working pressure; any leakage path fails the piece immediately.
- Dimensional Inspection: Bore, OD, bolt circle diameter and face finish are inspected per ASME B16.5 / B16.47 drawings before release.
- PMI Testing: A handheld XRF gun reads the alloy chemistry right on the spot, verifying Grade 2 and catching any heat mix ups.
- Radiography: RT or UT examines the internal structure for voids, cracks or discontinuities in the weld that cannot be reached by visual checks.
- MTC Documentation: The Mill Test Certificate records heat number, chemical composition, and mechanical test results for every piece in the lot.
- NABL-Approved Testing: Buyers who need third-party sign-off can request independent mechanical and chemical analysis at an NABL-accredited lab.
