What are Aluminium Bronze Forgings?

Aluminium bronze forgings are hot-forged components made from copper alloys that are strengthened by aluminium, with iron and nickel added. Aluminium does the defining work: it reacts with oxygen to grow a thin alumina film that rebuilds after surface damage. Iron refines the grain. Nickel guards against dealuminification in chloride-rich water. US buyers refer to it as aluminium bronze forgings.
