What Are Copper Forgings?
Copper forgings are solid components shaped by compressing heated copper stock between dies. Temperature control comes first: billets are heated to between 700°C and 850°C and worked inside their plastic range. Deformation at forging heat refines the grain and closes internal porosity. Flow lines end up aligned with the finished profile. Cast copper simply can’t match that. Castings retain shrinkage cavities, and bar machining wastes conductor-grade metal as swarf.
