What Are Brass Forgings?
Brass forgings are components shaped by compressing a heated copper-zinc billet between forging dies, using open tooling or a closed impression. Forgeability defines this alloy system. At 650-750°C, brass flows into intricate die cavities and fills thin webs without cracking, so parts form to near net shape with little machining stock left. Hot forging and closed-die forging add further gains: the grain refines, porosity closes, and dimensions repeat across long runs.
The forged part carries high mechanical strength. Corrosion resistance in water and steam comes from the copper base, while superior machinability follows from the small lead addition in forging grades. Good thermal and electrical conductivity qualifies forged brass parts for terminals and heat-transfer hardware, and long-lasting performance follows from these properties combined.

Standards, Testing & Inspection
There are six standards governing our brass forging supply:

Pressure testing screens pressure-retaining parts, while dimensional inspection, surface finish inspection, and visual examination close the release.
